Maybelline Gilded In Gold Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches ( Holiday 2015)

The holidays are here and of course holiday makeup palettes are out. This is the first time I have seen a holiday makeup palette from Maybelline. I was really intrigued with this palette and I had to pick it up from my local drugstore. First of all the packaging is so beautiful, I love how the palette opens up to reveal eye shadows and than another compartment that has a highlighter and a blush. It is so beautiful and I love the colors in this palette. This palette costs from $12-$15 depending on where you get it from and if it is on sale.

This palette comes with four eye shadows that are very neutral and are for everyday wear. The shadows are pigmented but not that much. I feel like they are a little powdery too, applied with a primer these shadows are great. The blush is so pretty for everyday use, it is a matte apricot blush and goes on very smoothly on the skin.  The highlighter is a shimmery light pale shade which does not look great on my skin tone. Also this palette includes a red gloss which is pretty and perfect for the holidays. The gloss is very pigmented but it is very sticky and does not last a long time on the lips. It also comes with a black kohl eyeliner which is kind of stiff. Over all I am okay with this palette, I like the eye shadows with a primer they are great for everyday look. The blush I like the most because it is prefect for my skin tone and I wear this everyday. Let me know in the comments below your thoughts on this palette. Have you picked it up? Thank you for reading and have a great day.

  1. It's so nice to see kits like this at the drugstore this year! They make such a nice gift and I think they are really well put together!

    Great review!

  2. Hey there!
A holiday palette is something to grab till you can, you've done an experience with it and found something good in it! ;-)
I haven't got it but from the name one can expect lots of gold and shimmer.... The eyeshdaows don't look really great but the lip gloss (I like the idea of a palette that includes a coloured mini lip gloss tube, instead of a lipgloss pan which is and becomes really messy) is so festive. The blush is cute but the pictures don't give it enough justice.
    Have a lovely day!

  3. Hmm, I don't think that I would have purchased this myself. Even drugstore makeup isn't exactly cheap where I am, so I want my money to be well spent!
