Essence Sheer & Shine Lipstick in Cute Nude Review & Swatches

Recently I was in Ulta and came across the Essence counter and saw these new sheer and shine lipsticks. A lot of the shades were sold out so I picked up the only shade that is available. As you all know that I love Essence lip liners. They are great and very affordable, also they have a great range of colors. So I decided why not give the sheer lipsticks a try and here I am with a review for you guys.

First of all the packaging is just like a normal lipstick. It comes in a round tube and the lipstick has a cute E embossed on it. The shade is picked up is Cute Nude, which you can see in the swatch is a very sheer light pink shade with purple undertones, maybe it is different on other skin tones. I really had to swipe this shade a good five to six times for it to show up. This lipstick shade does not have any pigmentation to it, unless you want to stand there and apply it five to six times. The formula although is very soft and goes on very smooth. It is sheer, so it will feel a little moisturizing on the lips. This lipstick lasted me about three hours and I felt like it just vanished from my lips. I did reapply a couple of times through out the day. I feel like the sheer formula can do that with many lipsticks, also this lipstick is transferable. This lipstick is very affordable and if you do go check out they have other great shades as well. Let me know in the comments below your thoughts on this lipstick. Thank you very much for reading and have a great day.

oxoxo,

  2. I've always been wary about Essence products because they're so cheap (and cheap in Australia usually mean TERRIBLE) but I may need to give these a try! Did you have any issues with flaking on any dry patches?

  3. I have one of these. The shade is a little bit darker (can't remember which one at the moment), but it seems to be a little more pigmented then the one you have. I really liked the formula and I think it will be nice and wearable especially for summer.
