Books | What I Read In March 2015

Hello Beauties,

Yes, a different kind of a post on my blog. I have decided to do monthly books that I have read. I am a big reader and love to read a wide varitey of books. This month I read three books and really enjoyed them a lot. Here I will be sharing my thoughts with you on the books, also a little tid bid about the book. Just a disclaimer that I will not be writing full in-depth reviews on the books. Just little snippets to let you guys know how the books are.

1. Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult: Jodi is my number one author and I have read almost everyone of her books. This book was on my shelf for a long time and I decided to read it this month. The story is about a woman who finds out in her early thirties that her father kidnapped her when she was a little girl. So the story unfolds when the father gets arrested for the crime 28 years later. I just love the characters in this book, everyone has their own story and the emotions are real.

2. Perfect by Ellen Hopkins: I have read Ellen Hopkins books before and I always enjoy this. This month I decided to pick Perfect up from Barnes & Noble and read it right away. The book has high school students going through life who want to be perfect for everything. We have a teenage girl who wants to be a model who starves her self so she can get into the industry. Also we have Cara who is struggling with her sexuality. Sean who is Caras long time boyfriend who wants to be perfect in sports and gets addicted to steroids. And we have Andre who by the way is my favorite, he comes from a rich family and his parents want him to have a great career but his heart is set on being a dancer.

3. I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou: This is my first time reading a Maya Angelou book and I am completely in love with her writing. This autobiography is set in 1969 where Maya and her little brother are abandoned by their parents and sent to live with the grandmother in Stamps. This book takes us through Mayas years being an African American. This book gives a great view on how African Americans lived in the 60s-70s and what they went through with the white people. Over all I really recommend this book if you love history and love Maya Angelou's work.

If you want to find out how many stars I gave each book follow me on GoodReads and also come and find out what books I will be reading for the month of April. Thank you for reading and have a great day.

Spring 2015: Maybelline Master Matte Blush Stick in Rose Rush Review & Swatches

Hello Beauties,

Maybelline has launched a new limited edition Master Matte Blush stick shade in their Rebel Bloom Spring 2015 collection. This is the first time Maybelline has done a blush stick that is matte, I have their non-matte blush stick in and it is a great hit. The spring 2015 collection has more than one matte blush stick but I only came across this shade. The packaging is the same as the ones Maybelline released earlier but it just says Master Matte on the label.

Rosy Rush is a beautiful pinkish mauve shade that is super pigmented. The blush is very creamy and blends super easily on the skin. At first it might seem that you can really over do this blush, which is true because how pigmented it is. I dab a little bit on my cheeks and blend it out with me fingers, the warmth of my skin really helps it blend easier and looks very natural. This blush stick lasts a long time on the skin, with six hours of wear my cheeks still looked like when I first applied the blush. Over all I am really impressed with the matte formula and the shade is just beautiful. Thank you so much for reading and have a great day.

Spring 2015: Wet N Wild Silver Lake Collection Paltte in Vinyl Collection Review & Swatches

Hello Beauties,

Wet N Wild has won my heart back with releasing the new Silver Lake collection and six pan shadows. This palette caught my eye right away and of course the nudes looked beautiful. The packaging is pretty with a clear lid and the shadows in rows of threes in the pan.

This palette includes two matte shades which is the first one and the last and the rest are shimmer. While swatching these shadows I had the biggest smile on my face because they are super buttery. With minimum fall out the shadows glide on smoothly and super pigmented without a primer. They blend super easily and do not look "muddy" on the eyes. I am in love with the gold shimmer shadow, I use it all over the lid and it is so pretty. The shadows last me all day and do not crease at all, they stay put all day long. Over all I am really impressed with these new LIMITED EDITION shadows Wet N Wild has done an amazing job with this collection. Let me know in the comments below what do you think about this palette? Thank you so much for reading and have a great day.

Wet N Wild Fergie Velvet Matte Lip Color in Pink Candy Review & Swatches

Hello Beauties,

Wet N Wild recently came out with velvet lip pencils from the Fergie collection. They released a lot of different shades that are only exclusive to Walgreens, I picked up only one from the line. The pencils are a look alike to the chubby lip pencils, these are twistable so no need for sharpening here. The packaging is super cute, with a matte lid which has the shade color.

From the outside this velvet lip pencils looks wonderful but the inside is not that great at all. The formula is very drying and super sheer. Pink Candy is a beautiful light pink shade which is a perfect shade for everyday wear. This shade you really have to build up, for this swatch it took me atleast five time to get the accurate color. This formula really drys out my lips and does not last a long time. Over all the color selection is great, but the formula not so great. Let me know if you have tried these and what do you think? Thank you for reading and have a great day.

NYX High Voltage Lipstick in Rags to Riches Review & Swatches

Hello Beauties,

As you all know NYX just released their Spring 2015 collection, and with that collection they released new lipstick shades too. Recently I was in Ulta to pick up some items from this collection, sadly there were not a lot of products left but I did manage to pick some up. This is a permanent collection from NYX cosmetics so I was not that worried when they almost had nothing left.

Rags To Riches is a beautiful coral pink shade with a glossy finish. The formula is very creamy, pigmented and the lipstick applies evenly to the lips. One thing I did notice about the formula is that it is too creamy, sometimes when you put your lips together the lipstick does tend to travel outside the lips. The packaging is pretty as well, it come housed with a clear lid so you can see the actual shade. The wear time is pretty great it lasted about five hours on my lips, but it did slide outside the lip lines. This collection has 21 shades from bold to nudes, let me know in the comments below what do you think about this shade? Thank you for reading and have a great day.

Rimmel London Apocalips Matte Lip Velvet in Atomic Rose Review & Swatches

Hello Beauties,

Rimmel London recently came out with the new matte Apocalips Matte Lip Velvets. There are a total of five shades in this collection and I picked up three of them. The packaging is the same as the regular apocalips lip glosses from Rimmel but these matte ones have a matte lid. I was so glad to find these at Walgreens because I have heard so many great reviews about them.

Atomic Rose is a beautiful nude rosy shade and is the perfect MLBB shade for me. The applicator is super soft and is designed perfectly to go on the lips without any mess. The formula of the matte lip velvet is super creamy and glides on the lips easily. These do not dry out the lips and do not feather at all. I have noticed that these last more than six hours sometimes and leave a little color behind. This shade is just beautiful and is perfect for everyday wear. Over all I am really impressed with these new glosses, they are very affordable and are available at drugstores. Thank you for reading and have a great day.

Colourpop Super Shock Cheek Blush in Between The Sheets Review & Swatches

As you all know Colourpop is one of my favorite affordable eyeshadow brands, and recently they released their blushes. The whole collection includes 20 blushes and I ordered five of them and fell in love with them the moment I laid my eyes on them. I have had these for two weeks now, and I have been using them a lot. I love the packaging of these, the blush comes in a round container with a clear lid and the name on the back.

Between The Sheets is a beautiful matte brown shade that has really warm undertones. I love this blush as an everyday blush, it is perfect. The blush blends out beautifully on my skin, and it looks perfect with any look or lipstick. The formula of the blushes are the same as the eyeshadows they are gel to powder formula. I have used this blush with my fingers and blended and also it blends perfectly with a stippling brush. I think this blush will become my staple blush in my collection, it is perfect for any skin tone also. Over all I am really impressed with this blush and it is very long lasting on the cheeks. Spring 2015: Wet N Wild Silver Lake Coloricon Palette in Thrift Store Chic Review & Swatches

Hello Beauties,

So many new beauty products coming out for Spring 2015 and its just crazy to keep track on all of them. With that said Wet N Wild released their Spring 2015 collection called the Silver Lake collection. There are total of five 6-pan LIMITED EDITION palettes in this collection and out of the five I picked up two beautiful palettes which I will be reviewing for you all.

Thrift Store Chic has beautiful pink shades that includes shimmery and frost finishes. At first I wasnt sure if I would like this one, but after picking it up and swatching I really like it. The pinks go on great on the lids, with a primer of course, and blend out very easily. One thing I can say is that these do have a lot of fall out so you have to be really careful when applying these. The shimmery shadows are great, they give your eye look the perfect amount of shimmer and do no blend out into nothing. I would say that the pinkish brown shade (last shade) is my favorite from all of them. Over all these shadows are not bad for less than 5 dollars, and the colors are pretty. Let me know in the comments below what do you think about these shades? Thank you so much for reading.

NYX Prismatic Shadow in Bedroom Eyes Review & Swatches

Hello Beauties,

NYX has released their Spring 2015 collection, and in that collection they released their Prismatic shadows. I picked up three shades and have already reviewed one shade HERE be sure to check that post out to see what else is out there. First of all lets talk about the pretty packaging, I love how it has a clear lid and a small bow on the side.

Bedroom Eyes is a very warm medium brown with gold undertones to it. I just love this shade for an everyday eyelid color. It is beautiful on the lids and gives that "metallic" look to the lids. The formula is great on these, it is not too powdery and goes on very smooth on the lid. The shadows are super pigmented and last for a long time on the lids. Over all I am really impressed with these shades, and the formula. Let me know in the comments below what do you think about this shade? Thanks for reading and have a great day!
